For Lou, Cincinnati was home for about 10 years. She built family, community, and a network there that parallels Chicago in many ways. Each time they’ve been back has been a joyous expression and shared experience of food. Returning to Cincinnati, Alana and Lou returned to Brown Bear Bakery’s sister location, Two Seven Two Bakery. Nestled in the heart of Ludlow Ave, this portion of Cincinnati is extremely special. The community there is vibrant and drives purpose from being self sustainable and loyal to their local businesses. A large portion of two seven two’s guests are that of a vegan diet—therefore with the help of Valrhona’s new vegan chocolate line—Alana and Lou took on the challenge of creating a bon bon set that contained all plant based ingredients.

We created two different collections—one a 5 piece set and the other a 2 piece set containing only plant based ingredients and chocolate. Each of these sets contained specific memories of childhood candies and trips to local diners. While our pastry collection executed technique and frankly just some of our favorite flavors we enjoy to share between our family and friends.
